Srinagar June 05 (KNS): Srinagar Municipal Corporation today organised and celebrated World Environmemt Day in all wards of Srinagar City.
Commissioner SMC Mr Athar Amir Khan along with Joint Commissioner Adm Syed Abul Qasim Kick started the special cleanliness drive in ward 31 Chanpora to begin with the environment Day celebrations.
Commissioner SMC on the occassion said It is our responsibility to keep our surroundings clean and green and we all must make the best of the efforts to do so to save our mother earth for better future.
While interacting with sanitation workers ,students and other participants ,Mr Athar stressed that let us work hand in hand to make this city healthier and safer place.
All the concerned ward officers with the supervision of Chief Sanitation Officer Nazir Ahmed Baba and zonal Sanitation officers organised special drives at the identified spots where sanitation drive was required to be held.
The rallies with the students of various schools and other participants were organised on the occassion in different wards of the city.(KNS)
