Srinagar, Mar 12 (KNS): Inspector general of police Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar has said that Sarpanch, who was killed in Kulgam village, had left secured accommodation in Srinagar without informing the police.

 
IGP said that deceased Sarpanch Shabir Ahmad was given accommodation in a secured hotel in Srinagar. 
 
He said that, however, he had left hotel and reached his home without informing the police. 
 
Meanwhile, IGP advised all protected persons to follow SOPs.
 
On Friday late evening, a sarpanch was shot dead by suspected militants in Adoora village of Kulgam district merely 3 days after a sarpanch was shot dead in Khanmoh area of Srinagar. (KNS)
