Srinagar January 25:(KNS)  On the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Neta Ji Subhash Chandra Bose, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology Udaipur (Rajasthan) held an Inter Agriculture University Competition. The Theme of the competition was “Paryavaran Chetna- Environment and Sustainability.”

The main objectives were, hearing the voice of the Youth on National Environment Concerns, encouraging the youth to engage with Environmental issues and understanding the common man’s point. The SKUAST-K had a selection process within its Faculties and Colleges, in which ten participants were selected among the students of SKUAST- K on 20 th January, 2022. An Inter Agriculture University Speech competition was held on the 23 rd of January, 2022 in which about 38 Universities participated in English and Hindi Languages.

The topic of the speech was “Urban Farming for climate action and Food Security”. Ten participants were selected among 230 students, six in English and four in Hindi Language. SKUAST-K bagged four positions among the selected 6 in the English category. Sairah Jabeen Laharwai from Faculty of Horticulture (1 st Position), Hamnah Naseem from Faculty of Agriculture (2 nd Position ), Munjid Maryam from College of Agriculture Engineering (4 th Position) and Ayman Qamri from Faculty of Veterinary Sciences(6 th Position) were the students who made it through to the finals from SKUAST-K. The final National Level Competition will be held on 27 th February, 2022 and the venue will be decided by the host University. 

Vice Chancellor Prof. Nazir Ahmad always encourages students to participate in these events and gives every kind of support needed for these competitions. The Dean of Students Welfare, SKUAST-K Prof. M.A.A.Sidiqi and Students Welfare Officers from all Faculties and Colleges
have congratulated the winners who have added more feathers in the cap of the University,
SKUAST-K and wished them best of luck for the Finals at National level.(KNS)
