SIDBI organises outreach Programme in association with PHDCCI in Srinagar

Srinagar September 16 (KNS):  Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), the apex financial institution engaged in the promotion, financing and development of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), organised an outreach programme for strengthening MSMEs ecosystem in J&K  in collaboration with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry-J&K.

The main objective of this first kind of an outreach programme was knowledge dissemination and awareness about SIDBI schemes on digital platforms and to have closer cooperation with J&K government and Industry fraternity on MSME issues.

The event was graced by Mehmood Ahmad Shah Director Handicrafts & Handloom Kashmir,  Balbir Singh, GM and Regional Incharge SIDBI, Chandigarh, Mr Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya, Patron PHDCCI Kashmir,   Vicky Shaw Co Chair PHDCCI,  Javaid Anim Star Member  of PHDCCI and other EC members along with representatives from local Associations, clusters, industrial estates and fruit Associations that includes  Tariq Rashid Ghani President CCIK, President Baramulla Fruit Growers and other potential entrepreneurs and traders. The programme witnessed overwhelming participation from various stakeholders including senior officials of government of J&K, other banks, Industry Associations and MSMEs. 

The event was formally launched by Mushtaq Chaya with his opening remarks and in his address he said that SIDBI will prove to be a game changer in the development of micro, small and medium enterprises in Kashmir, especially when  new industrial development scheme is being implemented and providing easy as well as cheap loans to MSMEs  by SIDBI will be a value addition and great help to the entrepreneurs. 
Mr Vicky Shaw presented the welcome address and thanked the SIDBI for conducting customer outreach for the entrepreneurs of Kashmir; he added this will greatly accelerate the industrial development of J&K.
In his address Balbir Singh, GM and Regional In charge SIDBI, Chandigarh  gave the detailed presentation about the schemes of SIDBI and stressed upon the need to maintain clean credit history to have good CIBIL scores. Shri Balbir informed the audience about various key initiatives taken by SIDBI for MSME sector including recent MoU with UT administration for infrastructure development of existing and new industrial clusters under its SCDF scheme and appointment of Grant Thornton Bharat LLP as PMU for J&K UT. SIDBI will work in close coordination with PHDCCI to benefit MSMEs who want to set up any industrial unit in service or manufacturing sector so as to promote industrialisation in the UT J & K, SIDBI said.(KNS)
