Shia association cancels Majlis Asad function, held every year at Imam Bargah Zadibal, in view of Covid-19

Srinagar, July 18 (KNS): All J&K Shia Association District Srinagar on Sunday held a meeting at Darul Jawad in Qamarwari under the leadership of Maulana Imran Reza Ansari (President AJKSA) and Abid Hussain Ansari (General Secretary AJKSA). 

As per a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the meeting was attended by some significant members from all the Association from Srinagar. 

The statement reads that the president of All J&K Shia Association Alhaj, Maulana Imran Reza Ansari and Abid Hussain Ansari with the consultation with each member of various areas have unanimously decided to cancel the function of Majlis Asad that is held every year at historic Imam Bargah Zadibal and have appealed to all the Momineen to support the call.

"This decision has been taken into consideration as a possible spreading of Delta B.1.617.2 variant, a SARS-CoV-2 mutation, 3rd Coronavirus pandemic wave across India and a warning by the medical experts that the coming two months are very crucial to contain the present Covid-19 situation."

The president further advised all the members to inform the people of their respective areas not to take this virus lightly and follow the advice given by experienced medical experts i.e. to vaccinate, wear double masks, maintain social distancing, wash hands with water and soap/sanitizer, avoid crowded place.
