Srinagar, June 01 (KNS):Dismayed over the continued delay in macadamization of Srinagar city roads by the administration JK PC youth President Sheikh Mohammad Imran has expressed deep concern over the dilapidated condition of roads and continued traffic jams over the main roads of Srinagar.
Shiekh while taking a dig at SMC authorities said that the tall claims of smart city projects undertaken by SMC have proved hollow claims as it seems that SMC associates are only making these projects as mere propaganda while the actual execution of these projects are no where on the ground.
He said that the continued traffic mess has not only affected smooth movement and created chaos but also has affected business activities as well in the city.
Sheikh said that the development of roads undertaken from R&B to SMC in an initiative to pave way for a smart city vision was to provide better walkable localities, reduce congestion and provide refurbished road networks including other amenities of citizens but yet the SMC administration is making only photo opportunities to hoodwink people with false and hollow claims while as Srinagar streets and roads display their fateful tale itself on the ground.
Urging the LG administration to intervene for early macadamization and inclusive management of traffic and other facilities in Srinagar in a stipulated time ahead of Yatra and the conclusion of the tourist season Sheikh said that the late execution of works will serve no purpose as the Kashmir have only three to four months left as pleasant and suitable weather for these works now.(KNS)
