Mr Shaheen urged the 

L/Governor’s Administration for carrying out restoration of utility services on war footing basis so that the people are provide basic necessities and other essential services on immediate basis. He said the people are already suffering due to intense cold and frequent snowfall and they need some respite at this hour of crisis.

 

Shaheen visited some snow effected villages in Banihal and interacted with the people and sought firsthand information about the problems faced by them during the second spell of snow fall.

 

He said the people of Mahu-mangit, Khari, Trigam, Chaknarwa, Chanjlu, Nowgam, Neel, Thachi, Pogal-Paristan, Maligam, Ramsoo, Shagan, Bingara, Sarachi, Chamalwas, Tajnihal, Runigam, Kharwan , Chaka-Sarbagni, Sumar, Bajmasta and other areas of Gool, Sangaldal, Ramban and Batote were hit the most. He also sought presence of medicos and para-medicos in the health institutions and adequate stocking of medicines to cope up with the needs of the people.

 

Refering to the blockade of Nachlana -Mahu road due to sinking of a major portion of link road at Hirnihal in Khari tehsil , Shaheen castigated the concerned agencies for failing in repairing and restoration of road as people are facing enormous problems due to frequent closure of the only link road connecting the area with rest of the district. He has urged the District Administration to take immediate cognizance of this serious public issue and direct the concerned authorities to restore the road properly as it is of utmost importance for the large number of local population living in the entire Khari tehsil. 

 

He urge the district administration to call a meeting of all stakeholders including IRCON Railway and fix responsibility on the erring agencies for their delay tactics in the repair of the sunken stretch of Nachlana-Khari- Mandakbas link road at Hirnihal.

Mr Shaheen also sought adequate stocks of rations at sale outlets so that they people do not suffer.(KNS)
