Srinagar june 17 (KNS): janata dal united jammu and kashmir state president Mr G M SHAHEEN greeted the people on the eve of Kheer Bhawani Mela.

In his message, he said the festival symbolizes communal harmony and brotherhood which are the hallmark of the pluralistic ethos of the U T.

He wished peace and prosperity to the UT.

 Shaheen said, "Kheer Bhawani Mela is the festival of happiness.On this day I greet the people especially the Kashmiri pandit.This is a very auspicious occasion for Kashmiris and local Hindus. People belonging to different religions have lived in peace here. This is a festival of Kashmiriyat. I pray for peace and brotherhood here."

“I prayed for the smooth return of Kashmiri Pandits to their homeland.
