Banihal, 18th Oct (KNS): National Conference leader and District president Ramban Mir Sajjad Shaheen conducted extensive tour of Maligam, Thana, Ukharhal, Bass areas of Tehsil Ukharhal in Banihal constituency and interacted with local villagers and took stock of the problems faced by the inhabitants of these villages.
People from various sections of the society met Shaheen and apprised him about their day-to-day problems like shortage of drinking water and inadequate facilities of electricity, drinking water, health care, shortage of essential commodities besides shortage of teaching staff in local schools.
It was also informed to Shaheen that dozens of kanals of land besides some houses have been damaged due to construction of Shalgarh-Panchal road under PMGSY in Adhal, Nowra, Khwrihal and Panchal and no compensation has been paid to the affected families so far.
Shaheen has assured the local villagers that their demands will be taken up with the concerned authorities for early redressal.
Shaheen drew the attention of the L.Governor led State administration towards deficiencies in education and health sectors and sought immediate filling up of vacant posts as also stocking of three months ration in all snow bound areas besides adequate quantity of medicines in the health institutions.
The district president was accompanied by Zonal Vice president Riyaz Ahmed Mir, Block presidents Shakib ur Rahman Runyal, Imtyaz Ahmed Mughal, Nisar Ahmed Sohil, Master Bahar Ahmed Naik, Mujibur Rahman Panch, block president ST Cell Pogal Chodhary Mahboob Ahmed, Youth leader Zahoor Ahmed Mushtaq Ahmed and others.
