Imam Ali was not only a temporal leader but also considered an exclusive religious authority: Molvi Imran Ansari

Srinagar, April 11 (KNS): Commemorating the Martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Ali AS, President All J&k Shia Association & former Minister Imran Reza Ansari in his sermon at Historic Imambargah Zadibal has said that Imam Ali AS, as an administrator was characterized by his strict justice. He oftenly rebuked Muslims for straying from the straight path after Muhammad (PBUH) and set out to implement radical policies and always intended to restore his vision of prophetic governance.
Molvi said that Imam Ali (AS) is considered not only as the temporal leader of the Muslim community but also as its exclusive religious authority, He said that Imam Ali (AS) thus laid claim to the religious authority to interpret the Quran and Sunnah, and particularly the esoteric message of the script and this distinguished him from others who may be viewed as merely the administrators of the divine law.

Ansari said that as a military commander, Ali (AS) is regarded as an authority for the rules of intra-Muslim war in Islamic jurisprudence.  He forbade Muslim fighters from looting and instead equally distributed the taxes as salaries among the warriors, he said and added that with this ruling, Imam Ali (AS) thus recognized his enemies’s rights as Muslims. He also pardoned them in victory, and both of these practices were soon enshrined in the Islamic law. Beyond these measures, Hazrat Ali (AS) has often been noted for his magnanimity toward his defeated foes. He also advised the followers ( al-Ashtar) not to reject any call to peace and not to violate any agreements and warned him against the unlawful shedding of blood.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Imam Ali (AS) was struck on the head with a poison-coated sword during the morning prayers in the Great Mosque of Kufa on the 19th Ramzan in 40 AH (the 27th of January AD 661) and got his martyrdom two days later.  The night preceding Imam Ali’s AS martyrdom is considered to be one of the threefold Qadr (Destiny) Nights when the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) more than 14 centuries ago.

Molvi Imran Ansari emphasized the need for Muslims to study the heroic life of Hazrat Ali (AS) and to come out of the present chaos and confusion.

“We should follow the teachings of Imam Ali in these difficult times. He was not only a brave warrior but a kind ruler as well. He possessed the best qualities on the battlefield and outside,” Imran Ansari said.

He said that Imam Ali was the guardian of orphans and friends of the poor and needy.
“The need of the hour for our youth is to follow Imam Ali’s footsteps for a successful life,” he added.

Later a Procession took place from Imam Bargah Zadibal to Baba Mazar in which thousands of mourners participated across the valley led by Molvi Ansari and General Secretary AJKSA Mr Abid Ansari. (KNS)
