Will sign more MoUs with UAE during Investment Summit at SKICC today

Srinagar, Mar 19 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor J&K Manoj Sinha on Sunday said the setting up of Mall in Srinagar is about 500 crore investment which will create more job avenues to people of Srinagar and nearby areas. He also said that the J&K government will sign several MoUs with UAE during the Investment Summit at SKICC today.


“Today is historic day for J&K as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) based EMAAR Group has decided to invest Rs 250 crore to set up a mega-mall on the 10 lakh square feet areas at Sempora Srinagar. This is movement of pride. The EMAAR Group will also invest in setting up IT towers in Jammu and Srinagar, besides the mall and total investment by the group will touch Rs 500 crore,” LG Manoj Sinha as per KNS said while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of foundation stone laying ceremony in Sempora Srinagar.

Speaking at the event, the LG said that the investment made by the EMAAR Group is just a beginning and urged the investing company to ensure the completion of the mall within the shortest possible time.

He said some elements inimical to development are habitual to criticize the government as they can’t digest the developmental activities taking place after August 2019. “The J&K has witnessed a massive change after August 2019. Government took up several initiatives for betterment of people. The government land which was in the occupation of influential was retrieved and will be used for setting up industries, playfields and other purposes,” he said. (KNS)
