SDA carries out demolition drive at several places in city

Srinagar, May 24 (KNS): Srinagar Development Authority in continuation to its demolition drive carried out inspection to remove encroachments at various areas under its jurisdiction including Batamaloo.

According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the vendors who were illegally operating their business on the footpaths and main roads were removed.

“Apart from this action was also initiated against the shopkeepers who had installed the goods in the corridors creating hurdles for the
general public in their free movement,” the statement reads.

It added that the General Public is advised not to indulge in any illegal constructions and encroachments on Govt land.

“The action against such constructions and encroachments shall be continue in future. Any structure raised without obtaining building
permission shall be sealed /demolished as per the provision of COBA Act 1988.”

It said that demolition drive was successfully executed by the authorities of Srinagar Development Authority in co-ordination with the police from Control Room Srinagar. (KNS)
