Ganderbal, Jul 02 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said that schools, colleges and other infrastructure will be named after those who laid down their lives for peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir and country’s integrity.
LG Sinha made these remarks while addressing a function in Lar area of Ganderbal today, organised by Sheikh Jabbar Foundation on 32nd death anniversary of Sheikh Abdul Jabbar.
He said that they cannot forget the construction of brave hearts who sacrificed their lives for the integrity of the country and those who kept the national flag high in J&K.
Sinha said that schools, colleges, universities, and other infrastructure including bridges will be named after these great personalities.
He added that important buildings in Ganderbal will be named after Sheikh Abdul Jabbar, who fell to the bullets of militants 32 years ago for his commitment towards country’s sovereignty, peace and prosperity in J&K.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
LG Sinha added that Sheikh Abdul Jabbar was a great son of the soil and his patriotism can never be forgotten.
He also said that the government is committed to end corruption by ensuring minimum human interference and everything is being done online, which is the best way to end nepotism and corruption.
LG Sinha further said that highway and tunnel projects worth crores were underway in Jammu and Kashmir and that Kashmir was heading towards new dawn of development.
He said that electricity in Jammu and Kashmir will increase this year as compared to previous years, as government recently inaugurated several power projects, which will give a boost to power infrastructure in the Union Territory. (KNS)
