Srinagar, Mar 9 (KNS) ; The Save Sharda Committee has congratulated its founder member, Lt Gen (Retd) Ata Hasnain, on his appointment as the Governor of Bihar, expressing hope that he would continue to guide the organization in its efforts to reconnect with the ancient Sharda Peeth.
In a press release issued here, Ravinder Pandita, Head and Founder of the Save Sharda Committee Kashmir Regd, hailed the appointment, stating that the retired Lieutenant General has been a pillar of the organization since its inception.
The committee specifically recalled Lt Gen Hasnain’s tenure as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Army's 15 Corps from 2008-09, where he was instrumental in bridging the gap between the security forces and the public through the iconic "Awam aur Jawan" (People and Soldiers) Sadbhavna platform.

Mr. Pandita noted that Lt Gen Hasnain has been a consistent advocate for the reopening of the Sharda Peeth, a historic Hindu temple and learning center located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The committee views his gubernatorial appointment as a significant recognition of his services.
"The committee, in its meeting, thanked the Government of India for appointing him as the Governor and expressed confidence that he will keep guiding the committee's future endeavors," the statement added. (KNS)
