Satish Mahaldar seeks lodging of FIR over illegal transfer of temple land to 3rd party in Srinagar

 

 
 
Writes to ADGP to lodged FIR against SMC, temple management, J&K Bank and Revenue department 
 
Srinagar, May 16 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Peace Forum chairman Satish Mahaldar has written to ADGP Kashmir seeking registering of FIR against Temple Management, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Revenue Department and J&K for illegal transfer of temple land to third party in Srinagar.
 
According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mahaldar has accused the SMC, Management of Drug Nag Temple, Revenue Department and J&K Bank for transferring temple land illegally to third party. 
 
He has written a letter to ADGP Kashmir to direct police station concerned to register FIR against them for aiding and abetting illegal activities that violated established laws and led to transfer of endowment property owned by the “Deity” of the Durga Nag Temple Srinagar to the third parties.
 
He has accused them of allowing unauthorized construction of commercial structures on the temple property including hotels, motels and commercial complexes.
 
In the letter, he has urged the ADGP to evict everyone in possession of temple endowment property using documents that have not been processed by local law to return it to the "Deity of the Durga Nag Temple in Srinagar. 
 
“Until then, steps should be taken to secure every store, building, and piece of land that has been given to a third party in violation of the rules and regulations that have been established from time to time,” he stated. (KNS)
