RTI Movement delegation meets LG Sinha,        Urges for setting up of CIC circuit bench in JK

Srinagar Jan 18 (KNS): A delegation of Jammu & Kashmir RTI Movement on Monday met Lt Governor Manoj Sinha in Srinagar and urged upon him to streamline the governance mechanism in Government offices. The RTI Movement suggested that the Central Information Commission (CIC) bench be set up in Srinagar and Jammu on the pattern of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). 

 As per the statement issued to news agency-kashmir news service(KNS), Delegation led by Chairman RTI Movement urged upon the Lt Governor to ensure all Administrative Secretaries , DC's , District SP's , SDMs have an official twitter handle plus a dedicated facebook page so that people bring the grievances into the notices of the officers through this medium. 

Dr Raja Muzaffar told LG Sinha that the majority of the Govt websites are not updated.  He urged him to direct all the  DC’s to update their websites and make details of PMAY , PM KISAN , PDS , COVID 19 expenses available on their official websites.  

RTI Movement also urged the LG to launch the Forest Rights Act (FRA) implementation  from March onwards as there is a lot of snow in villages near forests. He requested LG to ensure  Govt creates massive awareness about this act through different agencies  and using  social media , TV , Radio and Newspapers for the same. 

"Issues like compensation as per central act to affected farmers of Srinagar Ring Road and Karewa Damodar in Budgam, bringing Chopans under Scheduled Tribe category and making  Rural Waste Management operational and using MG-NREGA  funds for Snow Clearance in villages was also discussed " said Dr Muzaffar 

Senior members of RTI Movement Farooq Kuthoo , Mohammad Ramzan Khan and Mushtaq Ahmad Lone were also part of the delegation who met Lt Governor Manoj Sinha(KNS).
