Bandipora, August 28 (KNS): The workers associated with National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) on Wednesday held their annual elections and re-elected Reyaz Ahmad Malik as President of the Union for the third consecutive term.

The voting of NHPC Workers Union of North Kashmir's Bandipora district was held at NHPC Office located in Bandipora. An official said the whole exercise was conducted under the supervision of Labour department Bandipora.

Out of 279 total workers associated with the Union, 253 polled their votes.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelReyaz Ahmad Malik won the election defeating his nearest rival by 92 votes. He bagged 161 votes while his opponent got only 80 votes, 12 votes rejected.

The workers and the officers of NHPC congratulated Malik for getting elected as the President.

Workers hoped that the new President will work for welfare of the workers and will take measures to redress the long pending demands of the workers. (KNS)
