Red Cross, J&K reaches out to Breeders in Gumri, Minimarg and Sonmarg with Relief Items

Srinagar, July 26(KNS): Indian Red Cross Society, J&K Chapter today reached out to the breeders and chopans in Gumri,  Minimarg and Sonmarg areas with essential relief items.

In a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), reads, On the directions of Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, IAS (Retd.), General Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu & Kashmir Chapter, the IRCS today delivered essential material like dry ration kits, mink blankets, family hygiene kits, medicine kits, cooking stoves, tarpaulin sheets, buckets etc among the breeders and chopans presiding residing in Gumri, Minimarg and sonmarg forest areas. 


It said that a total of 22 families were provided with the essential items today which was handed over by Mr. Rizvi in presence of District Animal Husbandry Officer, Ganderbal. The beneficiaries were identified by the Animal Husbandry Department, Govt. of J&K. 

Speaking on the occasion Mr Rizvi emphasized the need of supporting the tribal community people who live in far-flung areas of J&K. Mr Rizvi stressed the need of carrying out such activities on a regular basis and assured that more such families shall be supported by the Indian Red Cross Society in future also.

He informed that the list of beneficiaries has already been received through the Animal Husbandry Department and the material shall be delivered to these beneficiaries in the coming days. Mr Rizvi thanked the officers and staff of the Animal Husbandry Department, Ganderbal for the technical support provided to the IRCS in carrying out the programme. (KNS).
