Rana releases short film on Swachh Bharat, lauds local talent

JAMMU FEBRUARY 07:(KNS)  Lauding the initiatives being taken to generate awareness about themes like cleanliness through various modes of communication, Senior BJP leader Devender Singh Rana on Monday exuded confidence that Jammu youth will play their designated role for betterment of the society.

“Films are a powerful medium to reach out to the society with social messages”, Mr Rana said while releasing Andhera Ujhala, a short film on

‘Swachh Bharat’ showcasing an inspiring story to send a message to citizens about sanitation and its linkages with public health.

Produced by renowned actor and artist Dharun Kesar, Andhera Ujhala features him in the lead role with local talent playing different roles and assisting in various departments of the production.

Mr Rana complimented Dharun Kesar and his team while acknowledging the abundant talent available in Jammu in every field, be it art or music, sports or athletes, and said given opportunity they will prove second to none. Alongside academics, the Jammu and Kashmir youth has been making their mark in various fields and bringing laurels at national and international levels, he noted.  

          Mr Rana hoped that Dharun will continue to work on subjects which have a message for the society. This will go a long way in generating awareness in the society. He wished the other team members best in their endeavours in carving out a definite place in various disciplines of film production. He appreciated the theme for the documentary, which has assumed immense significance after Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid thrust on Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.

          Mr Rana said the productive pursuits by talented youth will serve as inspiration to others to try their skills in different disciplines. He said he will continue to support these endeavours to encourage youth in shaping up their talent in disciplines like sports, art, music and culture.

         The film-launch function was organized by Kotli Colony Welfare Trust (KCWT) in which prominent citizens participated. While Mr Devender Singh Rana was the Chief Guest, SP North Jammu Mr Kulbir Handa was the Guest of Honour. Ex Deputy Mayor Jammu Dharamveer Singh Jamwal and Social Activist Chandan Datta were special Guests

Dharun Kesar presented the vote of thanks.
