‘Provide adequate ration, repair street lights for Ashura’

Srinagar, August 14:(KNS)   Former MLA Pahalgam and Apni Party General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir on Friday visited Imam Bara Sofia at Pahalgam taking stock of requisite arrangements for the day of Ashura.

During his visit, Mir met religious leaders and clerics of the Shia community who demanded immediate repair/installation of street lights and sanitation drive by way of fumigation so that the mourners face no inconvenience during the days of Muharam.

In a statement issued here, Mir urged the divisional administration to take up the construction of Imam Bara Sofipora under a special package from the department of tourism.

Apni Party General Secretary was accompanied by party's BDC Chairman Dachnipora Bashir Khan, DDC Candidate Gul Kully, Party's Zonal Coordinator, Block President and others.

During his visit, Mir appealed to the religious leaders of the Shia community in Pahalgam to ensure proper implementation of Covid-19 protocol and the related SOPs during the religious processions.(KNS)
