Srinagar November 21 (KNS): Apni Party General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir has said that the way the Lieutenant Governor (LG) Administration has declared a waiver of the interest that had accrued on domestic electricity bills due to non-payments for J&K residents, it should consider the same relief to the commercial power consumers as well.

In a statement, he said, “I request the LG Administration that in view of the Covid lockdowns and the subsequent business decline, it should consider the similar amnesty to the commercial consumers of the Power Department that it offered to the domestic power consumers.”

He added, “Everyone is thankful to the government for giving a huge relief to more than 5.50 lakh domestic consumers through its amnesty scheme, but the commercial users also are looking for a similar relief in view of the losses that they have met during the past few years.”

He further said, “I request the Administration to consider the pathetic condition of dominant businesses and industry and extend the amnesty to them as well.”(KNS)
