Srinagar, Jan 15 (KNS): Several parts of Kashmir recorded sub-zero minimum temperatures on Wednesday, with Pulwama and Shopian emerging as the coldest places in the Valley at minus 6.1 degrees Celsius, according to data compiled by Kashmir Weather.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, settled at minus 3.9 degrees Celsius, while the nearby Srinagar airport recorded a low of minus 5.0 degrees.
Qazigund, the gateway town to the Valley, registered a minimum of minus 4.7 degrees, while Pahalgam, a prominent tourist destination in south Kashmir, recorded minus 5.0 degrees.
Other parts of south Kashmir also experienced intense cold conditions, with Anantnag recording minus 5.7 degrees, Kokernag minus 1.1 degrees, Awantipora minus 4.8 degrees, Pampore minus 4.6 degrees and Beerwah in Budgam district at minus 5.2 degrees.

In north Kashmir, Kupwara recorded a low of minus 4.9 degrees, Baramulla minus 2.2 degrees, Bandipora minus 2.7 degrees, Ganderbal minus 2.6 degrees and Zethan Rafiabad minus 5.0 degrees.
Gulmarg, the ski resort in north Kashmir, registered a minimum of minus 3.2 degrees.
Meanwhile, temperatures in the Jammu region remained relatively higher, though a few places recorded near-freezing conditions. Jammu city recorded a minimum of 4.4 degrees Celsius, while Jammu airport registered 5.4 degrees.
Bhaderwah recorded minus 0.1 degrees and Udhampur minus 0.4 degrees. Rajouri recorded 0.3 degrees, Banihal 1.9 degrees and Kishtwar 1.0 degree Celsius.
The meteorological department has forecast continued cold conditions in the region.(KNS).
