Amritsar, Apr 17 (KNS): BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has said that whatever schemes have been put on the ground by Narendra Modi led government for the welfare of the downtrodden, weaker and deprived sections of the society, is taking forward the ideology of Baba Sahib Ambedkar.

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), he said that Baba Sahib made an incredible contribution to the progress of the country. “True tribute to Baba Sahib is that the weaker section of the society should prosper in India and Modi government is working on this for the last 8 years. Which has started showing fruitful results.”

During a program organized in the memory of Baba Sahib Ambedkar, Chugh said that he was born in a Dalit family and was a jurist and economist who played an important role in India's independence movement.

“The first law minister of India had faced discrimination due to the Dalit community. The ideology of Baba Sahib, who presented India as the strongest pillar of strength of his holy Constitution, united the nation.”

Chugh said that Baba Sahib Ambedkar devoted his entire life in the struggle against untouchability, casteism and social evils and protected the rights of the poor, downtrodden and exploited people.

He said that he was the father of the constitution, discharging the responsibility of the chairman of the committee that drafted the Indian Constitution.

“Five associated pilgrimage sites were constructed. Dalits were given proper place in the cabinet by the Modi government. For the first time in the political history of the country, 12 Dalit union ministers have been made in the government led by Narendra Modi.”

He further said that 3 Dalit women were given place in the Yogi cabinet, who include Babirani Maurya, Vijay Laxmi Gautam and Gulabo Devi.

As per the statement, many BJP leaders including Sarabjit Shanty and Chandrashekhar were present on this occasion. (KNS)
