Handwara January 07 (KNS): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Handwara, Dawood Ayoub on Sunday said that the police is an integral part of society which functions as a support system for the public.
He also affirmed the commitment to persistently stand alongside the community, jointly tackling any challenges that arise.
The SSP assured that the police will continue to collaborate with the public, reinforcing a united front in addressing various issues together.
"In any society, the police are an indispensable part, and where trust is lacking, we are taking every measure to build a good relationship with the public – we are one," said Ayoub while speaking with the media on the sidelines of Handwara cricket tournament.
"Beyond maintaining law and order, Handwara Police is actively addressing issue of drug abuse. Strict actions were taken in the past, and will continue in the future against individuals involved in drug peddling. The public plays a crucial role in curbing the drug menace," Ayoub stated.
"In response to domestic abuse against women and child abuse, the police has implemented several measures, including establishing toll-free numbers to combat such problems," he added.
Police is "here to serve our people; whenever there is a problem, people can reach us directly," he further said. (KNS)
