Srinagar, June 22 (KNS): Remembering renowned scholar and Kashmiri linguist , professor Mohiuddin Hajni on his 103rd birth anniversary , Nizamuddin Bhat former legislator and VC Muslim Wakf Boar in a statement said that such luminaries as him are unique pillars of our cultural edifice raised in their vision and persistence.
Bhat said, Hajni was a crusader who led from front the fight for assertion of Kashmiri culture and due place to Kashmiri language as a rich and potential medium of expression. Bhat said , Hajni was unique in his concept of Kashmir personality who took pride in its philosophical , literary and spiritual background. It was him who bore many challenges in his dream to see this spirit of Kashmir culture revived for posterity . Formation of Adabi Markz Kamraz in seventies was his conscious effort in this direction , the forum which provided a legitimate platform to litterateurs, poets , writers and linguists of Kashmir and is now raised to an enviable position for rightful exposure of Kashmiri intellectuals and identity lovers.
It was the inherent attraction of the objectives of this brain child of Hajni that Renowned Kashmiri poets and writers got together to display and project the richness of Kashmiri language , it’s distinct thinking and its literary treaure to world outside. One recalls how bright brains like Shujaat Bukhari took up the mission on young shoulders and how lovers of distinct culture like Aziz Hajni former secretary cultural academy became active partners of the cause and eventually shined as useful brains.
Bhat said Hajni’s great companions like Prefessor RehmanRahi , Abdul Rasheed Nazki , Amin Kamil , Margoob Banihali , Marshall Sultanpuri, Tanha Ansari , Mohmmad Yousuf Taing, Mohmmad Ahsan Ahsan and scores other distinguished contemporaries are an evidence how Kashmir’s intellectual
Constituency progresses eventually. Bhat said it will be the best tribute to this legendary son of the soil , if his mission of cultural assertion through knowledge empowerment and talent recognition is carried forward for sustaining distinct heritage and indigenous pride and glory. Bhat thanked AMK and other literary forums who are dedicated in enriching further the treasure of knowledge , specific Kashmiri culture and language as a sacred trust and a collective cause. (KNS)
