Power outage, technical glitch: Aspirants seek extension in filing Sub-Inspector applications from SSB

Srinagar, Dec 21 (KNS): Scores of the distressed aspirants who missed the deadline to apply for Sub-Inspector posts advertised by SSB are requesting an extension of a few more days to complete the formalities.

Several aspirants said that they fall into the one time age relaxation category but failed to submit the forms due to power outages and some technical issues with the website.

An aspirant said that "more than five dozen aspirants in his contact are distressed and making frantic calls to the SSB requesting them to the extent the last date for a few more days as they couldn't complete the formality given power outages and some technical issues."

The aspirants further said that the "time frame" for filling the application forms for those falling in the "one time age category" was very less, due to which they couldn't file the applications on time as they were going through other selection processes at the same time.

Many aspirants said that they were making rounds of the SSB office in both Jammu and Srinagar with representations to extend the last date, but "we haven't received any positive response as yet."

Pertinently to mention, the Home department had advised 800 sub-inspector posts who are to be recruited through SSB. Following larger public demand, the lieutenant governor, Manoj Sina announced 300 more posts and one time age relaxation of two years. The last date of the applications forms was 18 December. (KNS)
