Poonch girl secures 11th rank in UPSC exams 2022

 Srinagar, May 23(KNS): Parsanjeet Kour, a resident of Poonch, has achieved an impressive feat by securing the 11th rank in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). 

 
This remarkable achievement has brought immense joy to the town. Kour's uncle, Prathipal Singh, expressed the town's elation, stating, "We were confident she would qualify, but attaining such a high rank is truly amazing. Poonch is overjoyed." Kour herself has expressed her determination to utilize her position as an IAS officer to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir, with a particular focus on improving the healthcare and education sectors in Poonch.
 
"I have chosen to become an IAS officer to work towards the betterment of the people in Jammu and Kashmir. Poonch faces numerous challenges in healthcare and education, and I am committed to addressing them," Kour affirmed. Her success has brought immense happiness to both her and her family, who are extremely proud of her accomplishments.
 
Kour completed her education in Poonch, including her graduation, and obtained her Masters from Jammu University. She credits her success to self-study, emphasizing the importance of hard work, consistency, and patience throughout her journey. Grateful for the unwavering support of her family during her preparation, Kour humbly admitted, "I had hoped to clear the examination, but securing such a high rank was beyond my expectations. Examinations are unpredictable."
 
Notably, Kour had previously cracked the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) examination in 2021 and is currently undergoing training in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. Her achievements highlight the remarkable potential and resilience of individuals from even the most challenging circumstances, offering hope and inspiration to the people of Poonch and beyond.(KNS).
