Police organize 2nd phase of 'Thana Diwas' across Srinagar

Srinagar May 12 (KNS) : The Srinagar police on Thursday observed second phase of Thana Diwas across the various police stations of Srinagar. 

According to a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) reads that as a part of J&K governments public outreach programme, Srinagar police today observed 'Thana Divas'.In the 2nd phase the event was organized at following (15) Police Stations of the district, chaired by respective jurisdictional police officers in the presence of one supervisory officer.
PS Masiuma, PS Khanyar, PS Safakadal, PS Soura, PS Rainawari, PS Kralkhud, PS Bemina, PS M R Gunj, PS Chanpora, PS Zaidbal, PS Ahmadnagar, PS Sangam, PS  Nowhatta, PS Lalbazar and PS Batmaloo

The meetings were attended by the civil society members  including members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars,Traders Federation and Transporters, Panchayti Raj members etc.

During the meetings, participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. While speaking on the occasions, it was reiterated that the main aim of organising 'Thana Divas, is improve, transparency and accountability in policing at grassroot level in the district and to develop confidence and synergy with citizens .

The cooperation of different sections of the society in maintaining Law and order in the area and identifying anti social elements like drug peddlers etc was solicited.

Pertinently, the said event will be conducted on every Thursday in the Police Stations of the district for improving Police  Public Relationship.(KNS)
