December 13 (KNS): Police in Budgam organized a day-long workshop on "Road Safety and Traffic Awareness" at Govt Degree College Beerwah.
SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem-JKPS was the chief guest on the occasion. The programme was also attended by Ms. Samina Yesvi, Principal Govt. Degree College Beerwah, SDPO Magam and other Police officers of district Budgam. Large number of students and staff members attended the programme. The main objective of the workshop was to increase awareness about road safety and traffic among students and teachers to minimize the graph of road mishaps.
On the occasion, SSP Budgam delivered a detailed lecture on road safety & traffic awareness.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelBesides, requested the participants to follow the traffic rules in order to reduce casualties caused by road accidents. He added that thousands lost their lives and tens of thousands got injured in road accidents on a yearly basis mostly due to lack of awareness or ignoring traffic rules. He urged the participants that it is our obligation to make our youth aware of the traffic rules and to persuade them to follow these rules while on road. Moreover, a detailed PowerPoint presentation on road safety was presented by the Chief Guest.
SSP Budgam also administered an oath/pledge to all participants that they will obey traffic rules and will persuade others also to do the same.
Later, Principal Govt. Degree College Beerwah, Ms Samina Yesvi paid thanks to the Police for conducting such an awareness programme in the college.(KNS)
