Police organises Thana Diwas in Handwara

Handwara May 12 (KNS):  As a part of J&K Government's Public outreach programme, Handwara Police today organized 'Thana Diwas' conducted by various supervisory officers and  concerned SHOs on the directions of SP  Handwara.

At Police Station Vilgam the 'Thana Diwas' was conducted by SP Handwara Ms. Sheema Nabi Qasba-IPS accompanied Addl SP Handwara Irshad Ahmad Rather, SDPO Handwara and SHO PS Vilgam and at PP Magam, the Thana Diwas was conducted by ASP Handwara accompanied by SDPO Handwara, SHO PS Handwara and IC PP Magam.

The meetings were attended by the respectable citizens, civil societies of concerned areas, including, Numberdars, Chowkidars,Traders Federation and Transporters, PRI's. Besides large number of Public of the concerned areas participated.

In the pubic outreach Programme  numerous grievances projected by the general public were resolved on the spot as the Police officers gave patient hearing to the participants and also assured to take up the matter with concerned authorities related to the issues pertaining to other departments of the district.

It was also reiterated by the supervisory officers that the aim of the 'Thana Divas' is to ensure timely and efficient services to the aggrieved persons in a very transparent judicious manner.

The participants were impressed upon to co-operate Handwara Police in maintaining Law and order and drug free and crime free atmosphere in their respective areas.

Invariably all the participants expressed their gratitude to govt for organizing 'Thana Divas' at Police Station level.(KNS)
