Police organise awareness programme on cybercrimes in Pulwama

 

Pulwama May 11 (KNS):  In an on-going campaign regarding spreading awareness of cybercrime in general masses particularly young generation and students, Pulwama Police Organized Cybercrime awareness programme at Higher Secondary School Wasoora.

According to a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the event was presided over by Azim Iqbal, SHO PS Litter in which Lecturers, Teachers, students etc participated. SHO Litter gave inaugural speech about new trends of cybercrime and briefed them about cyber threats/activities viz Identity theft, credit card fraud, data stealing, cyber stalking, humiliation of girls, spreading pornography etc.

He also briefed them misuse of mobile phones and made participants aware as to how cybercriminals carried out cybercrime through internet, social media platform, websites etc. The Students were also made aware about E-Cop application and its features. The SHO also urged upon the students to prepare themselves for competitive examination right form now.

The civil society and the school management thanked and hailed Pulwama police for organizing such campaign/programme in education institutions and hope that such type of programs shall continue in future too.(KNS)
