Police arrests three Drug Peddlers in North Kashmir

 
Handwara, Aug 12 (KNS) : Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday claimed to have arrested three drug peddlers in Sopore and Handwara areas north Kashmir. 

In Handwara police said that a police party of Police Post Langate, while on naka checking duty at main market Langate apprehended two persons who had attempted to evade the police party in a suspicious manner. "On search, around 300 grams of charas like substance was recovered from their possession," it said. 

"The persons have been identified as Mohd Dilawar  Mir son of Gh Qadir  of Langate and Bilal Ayub Malla son of Mohd Ayub of Dangiwacha Rafiabad," the police said, adding that in relation to this, FIR No. 221/2022 U/s 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Handwara and investigation has been initiated.

In Sopore, the police said that a party of Police Station Sopore during naka checking at Adipora Sopore under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Furqan Qadir intercepted a person identified as Safeer Ahmad Lone son of Habib-ul-lah Lone resident of Adipora Sopore

"During search, 15grms of Brown Sugar like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Accordingly, a case under FIR number 171/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sopore and investigation set into motion," the police said.(KNS)
