Srinagar April 12 (KNS): Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 04 drug peddlers in Baramulla, Kulgam & Spore and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party of Police Station Chandoosa headed by SHO PS Chandoosa, at a checkpoint established at Galibal Chandoosa, intercepted two persons identified as Abdul Qayoom Lone son of Ab Rehman resident of Shirpora & Mudasir Ahmad Dar son of Ab Rashid resident of Heewan Sheeri. During search, 36 grams of Charas was recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to PS Chandoosa where they remain in custody.
Similarly in Kulgam, a Police party of PS Kulgam, during patrolling at Hadigam, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Farooq Ahmad Thoker son of Gull Mohammad Thoker resident of Hadigam. During his personal search, 700 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Kulgam where he remains in custody.
Meanwhile in Sopore, a Police party of Police Station Bomai, at a checkpoint established at Zonipora Crossing, Tujjer Shareef, arrested a drug peddler identified as Irfan Ahmad Pir @Bit Pir son of Mohammad Sultan Pir resident of Tujjer Shareef Sopore. During search, 560 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
