New Delhi, Sep 7 (KNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat and Maharashtra on Tuesday, where he will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation and lay foundation stones for development projects worth more than Rs 35,000 crore.

According to a government release issued on Monday, Modi will arrive in Vadodara around noon, where he will inaugurate and dedicate various projects and lay foundation stones for several railway, highway and other infrastructure projects. He will also address a public gathering.

The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation three key sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), covering 326 route kilometres and developed at a cost of more than Rs 20,700 crore.

The sections include New Sanand (North)-New Makarpura, New Umbergaon-New Saphale and New Saphale-New JNPT.

The government said direct connectivity to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority would facilitate faster movement of EXIM cargo, strengthen links between industrial centres and ports, reduce logistics costs and help decongest Mumbai’s railway network.

With the commissioning of these sections, the entire Dedicated Freight Corridor network will become operational, further strengthening the country's logistics infrastructure and multimodal connectivity.

Modi will also flag off freight train services from New Sanand (North), New Makarpura, New Umbergaon and New JNPT in Mumbai. He will also flag off a new passenger train service between Tanda Road and Vadodara (Pratapnagar).

The Prime Minister will dedicate the Jobat-Tanda Road new rail line, developed as part of the Chhota Udepur-Dhar project. The line will connect remote and tribal areas of Alirajpur with the national railway network.

He will lay the foundation stone for three railway projects spanning 329 kilometres and costing more than Rs 9,700 crore. These include the Vadodara-Ratlam third and fourth railway lines, Miyagam Karjan-Choranda-Malsar gauge conversion and the Vishwamitri-Dabhoi doubling project.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The projects are aimed at increasing passenger and freight capacity, easing congestion and strengthening connectivity between Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

Modi will also lay the foundation stone for three National Highway projects costing around Rs 1,780 crore, including the six-laning of the Kamrej-Chalthan section of NH-48.

Other highway projects include additional structures and major bridges over the Tapi and Narmada on the Vadodara-Surat section of NH-48, as well as grade-separated structures at Abhava, Mindhola and Khajod junctions on NH-53.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones for various Gujarat government projects worth around Rs 2,600 crore, including the Vadodara Urban Development Authority Ring Road Phase II and a 110 MW floating solar project at Kadana Dam.

In Mumbai, Modi will inaugurate the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 at around 5:45 pm and address the gathering.

The seventh edition of the GFF is being held in Mumbai from September 8 to 11. The annual conference has emerged as an international platform bringing together policymakers, regulators, central banks, financial institutions, fintech companies, technology firms, investors and other stakeholders to discuss the future of finance.

The theme of GFF 2026 is “Potential to Impact: Agentic AI, Tokenisation, Quantum - Trusted, Connected, Global Systems for Inclusive Finance.”

The conference will focus on the convergence of policy, regulation, technology, capital and industry, with discussions on Agentic AI, programmable finance, quantum technologies and other emerging technologies and their potential to create trusted, inclusive and measurable outcomes globally.(KNS)
