PHDCCI-Kashmir celebrates International Women's Day in Srinagar

 
Srinagar, Mar 09 (KNS): International Women’s Day under the aegis of PHDCCI-Kashmir was celebrated in Srinagar, the event was Chaired  by chairperson Women’s forum, media and sports PHDCCI-Kashmir and editor in Chief Sports unlimited, Shahana Fatima.
 
According to a statement, the session was conducted by incharge media and publicity wing of Youth Service and Sports, Azhar Hajini and Iqbal Fayaz Jan Deputy Director PHDCCI-J&K.
 
The statement reads that on the occasion prominent women faces of the valley graced the occasion including Sabira Matoo Founder Panun Foods & Spices,  Dr Sameera CMO, Dr Asifa Medical officer, Dr Sahleira Medical officer, Dr Zahida medical officer,  Iqra Akhoon Journalist Kashmir Life, Nafeesa Anchor Good Morning J&K, Urwat-ul-wuska Anchor Good Morning J&K, Ariba Altaf Anchor Good Morning J&K, Iram Journalist and Anchor Good Morning J&K. 
 
It reads that the participants discussed that we cannot pave the way for development without gender mainstreaming. 
 
“It was mentioned that the purpose of celebrating women’s day was to pay homage to the role of women in the development of Society as well as to raise awareness about their rights. It was said that Islam gives the best rights to women.”
 
It also reads that unfortunately, we are not implementing the golden principle of Islam in our lives. “There is a tendency in society to deprive women of their rights and it is up to every individual to educate herself/himself on Islamic history so that she/he can be disabused of false perceptions about the Islamic religion.” 
 
“One thing is clear and that is that people who “represent” Islam are very disparate from the religion itself. The dream of prosperity could not be materialized without the development of women.” (KNS)
