PHDCCI hold first EC meeting of 2022

Srinagar May 22 (KNS):  The PHDCCI-Kashmir held its first EC Meeting of the year 2022 at Sara City Srinagar today on 21st May 2022; the meeting was chaired by its Chair Mr. Baldev Singh Raina along with Patron Mr. Mushtaq Ahamd Chaya and Co-Chair  Vicky Shaw.

 
During the Executive Committee meeting various issues of Trade and Commerce were discussed, the PHDCCI members at the helm of affairs decided to focus on measures to aid the revival of Trade and Industry, particularly MSME. The focus of PHDCCI Chamber will be on bussiness development, youth handholding, advocacy, knowledge, enhancement and strengthening of PHDCCI-J&K. The meeting was attended by Executive Committee members of PHDCCI and prominent bussiness personalities of Kashmir that includes *Mr Jan Muhammad Kaul, Mr Javaid Anim, Mr Bilal Kawoosa, Dr Mohd Yousuf Kawoosa, Dr Tariq Ahmad Bhat, Mr Adnan Shah, Mr Mukhtar Ahamd Shah, Mr Himayu Wani, Syed Parvaiz Qalander and Iqbal Fayaz Jan Deputy Director PHDCCI J&K, Mr Tariq Rashid Ghani, General Secretary of JK Hoteliers Club and President CCIK* also attended the meeting. 
 
*Mr Mushtaq Chaya* while addressing the members said that PHDCCI-J&K is the National Apex Chamber that comprises a highly influential network of senior businessman and thought-leaders committed to growing trade, investment and economic development of Jammu & Kashmir. “I think it is important for everyone to know that there truly are a lot of really good things happening right now throughout the J&K and a lot of positive developments towards economic development of Jammu & Kashmir,” Chaya stated. “In spite of so much of the negativity we hear from time to time, it is important for people to hear that good things are on the way and we need to push the various issues of Trade and Commerce of J&K. Regarding the tariff issue of hotels Chaya clarified that Hotels decide how to price their rooms "based on many different factors, including the market they are in, special events or holidays that may affect their demand for rooms and the differences in the rooms they have to sell. The franchise boutique hotels use revenue management software all over world and other algorithms to automatically update the hotel room rates. If you search different dates for the same location you will notice that hotel prices can go up and down from day to day. Revenue management software helps hotels predict when demand will be high or low. Chaya further added that the upcoming Visit of Mr Pradeep Multani will be hosted wherein all Trade and Bussiness associations and administration will be Invited to interact and become the part of National Apex Chamber of Country.

*Mr Vicky Shaw Co-Chair PHDCCI- Kashmir* in EC meeting highlighted that some of our members are also members of surrounding local chambers that also helps in expanding the potential of National Chamber to reach to other businesses to work with. Vicky Shaw said. “PHDCCI promotes member businesses and devotes full-time attention to building a strong business community. The networking, visibility and opportunities that the PHDCCI provides a valuable asset and investment for businesses of all types and sizes. Being a Chamber member means more than just attending meetings and events. PHDCCI is giving a number of avenues for exposure to latest Industrial developments, training seminars, Workshops and member awareness. The EC members of PHDCCI-K put forward various suggestions for economic development of J&K. The Committee Suggests for robust mechanism for handholding of marginalized youth and Middle-Class and Lower Middle Class youth of J&K from rural and urban areas, the Committee Suggested for collectively resolving the banking issues and other Industry related issues of members and non-members also which are facing various problems in different departments of J&K, the Chamber Welcomed the initiative for holding 1st Edition of Kashmir Fair-Premier Shopping Festival in the month of August and it was unanimously decided to select and nominate the district convenors from various associations, Industrial Estates, Bazaar Committees and Fruit Associations, industrial estates from across all districts of Kashmir.(KNS)
