PHD Chamber Delegation Meets LG Sinha to Boost Investment in J&K

 Srinagar, June 01(KNS): A delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry from New Delhi and Srinagar met with the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan Srinagar to extend their congratulations for successfully organizing the G20 Working Group Meeting in Srinagar. 

The delegation, comprising of the former President of the Chamber Shri Alok B Shriram, A P Vicky Shaw Chair PHDCCI-Kashmir, Col Saurabh Sanyal Secretary General & CEO PHDCCI and Shri Iqbal Fayaz Jan Deputy Director PHDCCI-J&K used the opportunity to discuss a range of issues relating to industry, trade, commerce, and MSME (micro, small, and medium enterprises) in the region.

 

The Chamber delegation lauded the Lieutenant Governor for ensuring a seamless and successful G20 Working Group Meeting in Srinagar, which was attended by global business leaders and dignitaries. The delegation also acknowledged the positive impact such global events can have on the region, including creating global networks, generating new business opportunities, attracting investment flows, and promoting tourism.

 

During the meeting, the Chamber discussed various pressing issues related to industry, including existing industry and constituting a committee for  resolving the issues of Sick Industries and also the  issues that need to be addressed to promote growth and development in the sector. The delegation also touched on topics such as Apple transport Corridor, incentivizing of Home Stay ecosystem, revival and Promotion of Kashmir Haat, formation of Trade and Industrial Advisory Committee and   exploring new markets, and enhancing the competitiveness of Indian businesses in the global market.

 

The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the Chamber's contribution towards the growth and development of the Indian economy and reiterated the importance of collective efforts towards promoting sustainable growth. "We thank the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their kind acknowledgement of  successfully hosting the G20 Working Group Meeting by people of Kashmir. We believe that such global events create opportunities for our region to showcase its potential and leverage international networks towards promoting inclusive growth," said the Lieutenant Governor.(KNS).
