Sopore, Apr 27 (KNS): Residents of Sopore town Wednesday held a protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) for its failure to provide electricity on a regular basis in the ongoing holy month of Ramadan.

Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that inhabitants of Kralteng locality of Sopore blocked the road near police station Sopore against PDD for failing to provide uninterrupted power supply.

“There has hardly been a day when we have had electricity at the time of Sehri or Iftar. During the day, the situation gets worse. We have never faced such a situation before,” said one of the protestors.

Protesters urged the administration and PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply especially during Sehri and Iftar hours.

Meanwhile, officials from civil and police departments reached to the spot and pacified the protestors. (KNS)
