PDP Youth Body held meeting in Shopian

Shopain, Oct 20 (KNS) : A meeting was held by People's democratic Party(PDP's) youth body in Zainpora Wachi area south Kashmir's Shopain district. 

The party in it's statement said that the more we increase active participation & partnership with the youth, the better we understand their mindset and serve them. 

"While speaking at the gathering YouthJKPDP General Secretary Organisation Mohit Bhan reaffirmed that PDP will do whatever it takes to engage the youth ensure their representation in panchayat, municipal councils to law making assembly & help them build a better future for J&K," it said. 

It futher said that the entire gathering at the onset stood up and maintained one minute silence as the mark of respect on the demise of Sh. "Puran Kishen Bhat killed in a militant attack at Hermain and prayed for the soul of deceased," it added. 

It futher said that the youth wing meeting held in Zainpora Wachi today was presided over by PDP’s recently appointed General Secretary Organisation Youth - Mohit Bhan, coordinator south Najmu Saqib and held under the able guidance of district president Shopian and Ex MLA Aijaz Ahmad Mir. 

“There has been a political upheaval and the youth is being denied it's rightful place in the system. On one hand government is making youth it's talking point but on ground they are being pushed to unemployment and vulnerability. We had about 200 young people from the area participate in the discussion over our road ahead” Mohit told the media present. 

Mohit urged youth in the Valley to become “active participants” in the politco-social activities which is the need of the hour more than ever given the way our constitutional rights are under immense onslaught and to claim their rightful space and address grievances. 

Former MLA Aijaz Ahmad Mir and PDP’s youth wing coordinator for South Kashmir, Najmu Saqib, also addressed the gathering highlighting the issues ranging from hoticulture to unemployment,  instability to insecurity.(KNS)
