Srinagar May 20, (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President Haji Abdul Rashid Dar has hit out at the Horticulture department for failing to compensate the affected fruit Growers.
In a statement to KNS, PCC Vice President slammed the Horticulture Department over failing to assess the losses caused to Growers due to recent hailstorm in Sopore and elsewhere in Kashmir valley.
He said recently Director Horticulture has reportedly claimed to have compensated the Growers, but that was not the situation, the reality is that the department has not even assess the actual looses to Orchards and demanded adequate compensation to affected growers.
PCC Vice President also urged the Govt to provide pesticides to Growers on subsidized rates besides apprised about the brand and quality to be used for Orchards, he added and reiterated that the Growers must be compensated fully.(KNS)
