Demands adequate supply of essentials in wake of ensuing winter

Srinagar, Nov 20 (KNS): Expressing strong concern over the acute shortage of Kerosene Oil in the markets across the valley, Youth JKPC General Secretary Organization Mudasir Karim has said that people are facing immense problems due to the new schedule of power supply particularly small business holders, including shopkeepers, students, labourers (especially carpenter's and Masions) and people using Kerosene heater for their infants as there is no availability of kerosene oil in the market making these business holders, students, labourers to face immense hardship to use generator sets for power supply.

Mudasir said that the new power schedule has affected the businesses of all stakeholders and there is an urgent need for Kerosene oil to be made available in the markets.

Mudasir said that earlier essential supplies like K-Oil was made available in local Ration stores at cheaper rates but now the government is less concerned to make it possible to supply in the open market while as the government had earlier announced establishing Kerosene oil stations at every district and tehsil levels which is still a distant dream. He said that as the winter has now approached the valley in particular is facing an immense shortage of these items. He made a  fervent appeal to the J&K LG administration to ensure and make an appropriate supply of Kerosene oil and other essentials available at doorsteps to consumers so that they may not face any inconvenience during winter.(KNS)
