Srinagar, July 27(KNS): Despite the tall claims by the health department falls flat, as the trauma hospital Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district is without radiologist from past several months, due to which people suffers badly.
According to sources that, "During the tenure of Dr Masrat Iqbal, the then BMO Pattan, in 2018 a businessman of Singhpora Pattan, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat had donated Ultrasonography (USG) machine to Trauma hospital.
Unfortunately the USG machine is lying there but there is no radiologist who could make use of it, said sources.
Sources said, in past_ all levels, 1,2 and 3 were being done at Trauma Hospital Pattan (THP) but from many months patients from the adjoining areas including Pattan, Hyderbaigh, Palhallan, Singhpora, Andergam Tapper and other adjecent areas are suffering like anything.
Dr Zaffar (Radiologist) was transfered from this hospital after which since then the machine has become de-functional, as government has failed to post any new radiologist there.
Local residents said that if this was the trauma hospital govt should have made all facilities available there.
"Even though we are having a local couple doctor namely, Dr Gulzar Ahmad Parra and Dr Rehana Parveen who are posted in Zachaldara Kupwara from past 15 years and we appeal the higher authorities to transfer them here at trauma hospital Pattan as they could remain available 24*7 in their own area, said locals.
Locals believe that, Dr Rehana is a capable radiologist and can serve here, while this THP is also a maternity hospital, the maternity patients from Sopore, Putkhah, Kreeri also visits here for smooth deliveries.
Meanwhile when contacted, Dr Tasavour BMO Pattan, she said that, I have already taken up this matter with the higher authorities.
However, locals further said that till date govt has not posted any radiologist at Trauma Hospital Pattan, that shows their negligence and poor response towards the people of this area.
Once again we request the advisor to Lt Governor, Financial commissioner Atul Dullu and other higher authorities to fulfil our demands on the priority basis, otherwise we will be forced to hit the streets after Eid, locals added. (KNS)
