Srinagar, May 10 (KNS): National Conference chief spokesperson and MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq on Sunday said his persistent efforts spanning several months have finally brought advanced medical facilities worth nearly ?4 crore to JLNM Hospital, Rainawari, ending the ordeal of patients from downtown Srinagar who were forced to travel long distances for specialised treatment.
Inaugurated by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the new facilities include an ERCP Endoscopy Machine, Ultrasound/Doppler Machine, Tissue Processor for Histo-Pathology, and a Laser Urology Unit, installed under the CSR initiative of HDFC Bank.
Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) on the sidelines of the inauguration, MLA Sadiq said, "Strengthening healthcare in downtown Srinagar has been my top priority since I was elected as MLA.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelPatients from Rainawari, Zadibal, Hawal, Nowhatta and adjoining areas had to wait for months and travel far for procedures like endoscopy and laser urology. That will change now."
"This is not just a machine inauguration. This is relief for thousands of poor and middle-class families who could not afford private treatment," MLA Sadiq added.
The MLA said he would continue to work towards upgrading JLNM Hospital into a full-fledged tertiary care centre for downtown Srinagar. (KNS)
