Srinagar, Oct 13 (KNS): PARAS Health Srinagar on Tuesday announced that it would provide joint replacement surgeries to eligible patients under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), allowing beneficiaries to access specialised orthopaedic treatment subject to the scheme's coverage and approval conditions.
The hospital said the services would primarily benefit patients suffering from severe knee and hip conditions, including advanced arthritis and joint damage, which affect mobility and daily activities.
According to the hospital, a team of orthopaedic specialists will undertake the procedures after assessing patients' medical conditions and determining their suitability for surgery.
The availability of treatment under Ayushman Bharat is expected to reduce the financial burden on eligible patients requiring joint replacement procedures.
PARAS Health Srinagar Facility Director Dr Murtuza Habib said joint-related conditions could significantly affect patients' independence and quality of life.
“Through joint replacement surgeries under Ayushman Bharat, our endeavour is to help eligible patients access expert orthopaedic care without the burden of prohibitive treatment costs,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Habib said the hospital would focus on patient safety, postoperative recovery and improving mobility through appropriate treatment.
Seema Vig, Senior Vice President and Regional Director of PARAS Health, said financial constraints should not prevent eligible patients from accessing specialised healthcare services.
“Access to quality healthcare should not be limited by financial circumstances. By extending joint replacement services under Ayushman Bharat, we aim to support eligible patients in regaining mobility and living healthier, more independent lives,” she said.
The hospital said knee and hip replacement procedures would be considered on the basis of individual clinical assessments, while other orthopaedic treatment options would remain available depending on patients' medical requirements.
It clarified that approval and coverage of surgical procedures would be governed by applicable Ayushman Bharat guidelines and scheme conditions.
Patients seeking information about eligibility, treatment options and appointments can contact the hospital at 7835084930 or 7835084920. (KNS)
