Srinagar, Dec 26 (KNS): The Tourism Department is all set to celebrate the New Year event at Pahalgam in a big way with some prominent bollywood celebrities in attendance.

The week-long festivity commenced from Christmas celebrations which would culminate with celebration of New Year on December 31.

Yesterday a colourful cultural event was held at Pahalgam Club which was tastefully decorated and illuminated. Similarly, local hotels, buildings and the market were illuminated and the whole place wore a festive look. A variety cultural programme was organized in the evening by the Department which saw the participation of a large number of tourists and local visitors.

Many local and national bands are expected to perform during the week at Pahalgam. (KNS)
