PAGD passes resolution on Article 370, 35A to restore 'constitutional position' of J&K, Ladakh

Srinagar, Aug 24(KNS): The People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) on Tuesday passed a resolution on Article 370 and 35A, for the return of the pre-August 5, 2019 position for J&K which were abrogated by the Central government in 2019.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Correspondent, senior CPI-M leader and Alliance spokesperson Mohammad Yousuf Taragami while talking to reporters after the meeting and said that the conglomerate has passed a resolution for the return of the pre-August 5, 2019 position for J&K.

 "We have adopted a resolution that the constitutional position of J&K as on August 4, Article 370, Article 35 A, statehood for J&K must be restored, the constitution of J&K must be restored as well," he said.

the PAGD spokesperson said that today the leaders of PAGD met after a long time as the government is trying to hamper our efforts but we managed to meet.

He said that the agenda of the meeting was the restoration of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. "We formed the PAGD after August 5, after the abrogation of Article 370 and we are fighting for it, " the spokesman added. 

He said that Silence in Jammu Kashmir is depicted as normalcy. "We appeal people of India that we want our rights. Today we gathered to sent out a message throughout the country, we are committed to seek our constitutional rights. We demand article 370, 35A and statehood must if restored fully," he added. 

He said that this is thier constitutional right wns they have adopted a resolution to restore the constitutional position of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh under Article 370 and 35A.

"Due to the Domicile law, investment and developments are getting affected in the union territory. The people of Jammu are facing problems in business and jobs as they are not getting jobs as per the new laws which do not allow giving jobs to stone pelters. Also, we demand to release of political prisoners, " he added. 

He also said that the government harrases people through Crime Information Bureau (CIB), National Investigation Agency (NIA) and other agencies. We condemn these things," he said. 

Today's meeting comes days after the PAGD on August 5 held a discussion on the second anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 by the Centre and the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into a UT(KNS).
