Srinagar, Mar 29 (KNS) ; More than 18,000 candidates appeared for the diploma examinations in Nursing and Allied Health Care courses conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Nursing Council in collaboration with the erstwhile J&K Paramedical Council, officials said on Sunday.
The examinations were held across 31 centres in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, with a total of 18,040 candidates appearing in 33 papers across 15 streams.
In the Kashmir Division, which includes 10 districts and Ladakh, 8,720 candidates appeared at 17 centres.

A special examination centre was set up at Central Jail Srinagar for a single candidate following a request from jail authorities, the officials added.
The smooth conduct of the examination reflects the councils' commitment to maintaining high academic standards and strengthening professional training in nursing and allied healthcare disciplines, the statement said. (KNS)
