Kupwara April 07:(KNS) Acting tough against the anti-social elements and to make our society crime-free, Police in Kupwara have booked a notorious thief under public safety act (PSA) after obtaining necessary sanction from the authorities.

A notorious thief namely Mudasir Ahmad Lone  son of Late Abdul Majeed Lone resident of Mughalpora Kupwara was today detained under Public Safety Act by Kupwara Police after obtaining sanctions from the concerned authorities for his unrelenting criminal acts of burglary and theft. He was involved in at least five cases of burglary and theft in and around Kupwara town. Apart from his involvement in several FIRs, the accused had created an atmosphere of terror and fear among general public of the area.

 Our consistent actions against anti-social elements should reassure the community members that we are making continuous efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of inimical elements. (KNS)
