Northern Command Unveils Major Logistics Upgrade with Project Sena Sarthi in Leh

Leh, Nov 28 (KNS) : In a major step towards strengthening logistics infrastructure in high-altitude regions, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Army Commander, Northern Command, inaugurated the pioneering Project Sena Sarthi at Leh on Friday. The initiative, developed in partnership with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), marks the commissioning of state-of-the-art underground fuel, oil and lubricant storage facilities in the Kargil sector.

The project was e-inaugurated jointly by Lt Gen Pratik Sharma and Subhankar Sen, Director Marketing, BPCL, in the presence of Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, Corps Commander, Fire and Fury Corps, and Lt Gen Mukesh Chadha, Senior Colonel Commandant, Army Services Corps.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The newly built storage tanks will substantially enhance fuel holding capacity, ensuring sustained operational readiness for troops deployed in some of the country’s toughest terrains and extreme weather conditions. The initiative is expected to double the existing underground fuel storage capacity within a single season, a milestone unmatched in the past 25 years.

Project Sena Sarthi reflects the robust collaboration between the Indian Army and BPCL, aimed at strengthening strategic infrastructure and ensuring seamless logistics support to troops securing India’s borders.(KNS)
