Bandipora, Aug 28 (KNS):  Former legislator and senior Peoples Conference leader Nizamuddin Bhat on Sunday visited several flash-flood hit villages in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

In a statement, a spokesperson said that Bhat visited Zaban, Kudara and Upper Kudara villages, where flash floods have caused immense damage to public and private properties.

The statement reads that PHE network, residential houses, irrigation channels and school buildings have been damaged, somewhere partially and somewhere extensively.

It added that Tehsildar concerned has also visited separately to take stock and make assessment and Bhat appealed to the concerned authorities to lend support to the affected people.

Bhat also appealed to the LG administration to lend support to local administration following quick assessment to raise damaged infrastructure afresh and also extend relief to sufferers.

He hoped that worthy deputy commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais will apprise the higher authorities about suffering caused.

Bhat also expressed sympathies with the affected families and assured them of all possible help in this hour of need.(KNS)
